Northwest FOLKLIFE is Finally Here

Wow. That’s all we have to say after last Saturday night at the Tractor Tavern. Wow. What a turnout! Thank you all for showing your pretty faces and dancing with us late into the night. Headlining a weekend show is always a special opportunity that we cherish, and there was no better crowd to share it with than all of you who showed up last Saturday. And you know you’re doing something right when a stranger wanders onto the stage during an extended jam and wonders how they got there. Right on guys! Let’s have another late night party soon.

Coming up this weekend we’re playing an afternoon set on the Mural Amphitheater Stage at Northwest Folklife at 2:35pm. As part of the Bluegrass show this year we are doing a special tribute to legend Hazel Dickens with our friends Ben Hunter & Joe Seamons, Down the Road, and Cliff Perry Band. We hope to see you out there supporting all of the wonderful artistry the Northwest has to offer!

Seattle and Tacoma Look Out

Two chances to catch the Warren G’s this week! We are really looking forward to this Thursday night show at Nectar Lounge helping to kick off the Northwest Folklife season, always a great time hanging with our buddies Ben Hunter & Joe Seamons and you definitely get your $’s worth at this one because Naomi Wachira and Jacob Miller and the Bridge City Crooners are incredibly talented!

Speaking of talent, we can’t wait to share the stage with Rabbit Wilde again this Saturday night in Tacoma at Jazzbones. You could even say we are pretty jazzed about it (we won’t say it, but you definitely could).

Nectar Lounge

What an honor to play for a packed Lincoln Theater last night! It’s not typical of us to play for a sitting crowd but we could get used to it, the sound was incredible. Thanks to everyone who was there, we met many new faces and we hope to see you again soon.

Tonight is the final of three album release shows with Rabbit Wilde and we’re finally bringin’ it home! The Nectar Lounge in Fremont will be packed and it’s going to be a great time. Plus the venerable Crow and The Canyon are getting things started, get there early and have a beer with us. Get your tickets here: Nectar Website

Next up: Lincoln Theater in Mt. Vernon Feb 19

There is nothing quite like the rush of playing in front of a packed house, and this weekend at the Wild Buffalo provided that once again. The response from the crowd after each song encourages us to keep going, we are so grateful for the opportunity to play for fans like you. Wow! A huge thanks to Rabbit Wilde for having us along for the ride. Their two sets Friday night were so full of energy, we can’t wait for February 19th at the Lincoln Theater in Mt. Vernon followed by The Nectar in Seattle on February 20th!

Unfortunate WGH News

We here at the Warren G’s would like to fill our friends and fans in on an important and bittersweet piece of news. Our #Boograss Halloween show at the Tractor was the last official performance for our fearless and fearsome banjo player Steve Werner. Steve has been in this band since before it was a band, and as an original founding member has contributed immeasurably to the sound and soul of this project. He is one hell of a fire pickin’ scholarly gentleman and it’s a pleasure and privilege to have shared this road and its many memories up to now. We will no doubt greatly miss his photogenic presence and general badassery on stage.

Steve and his lovely wife Gem are about to become proud and wonderful parents for the first time, and we wish them much love and happiness as they embark on new endeavors in the coming months.
